Glenn Leasher and crew brought their jet dragster named Infinity to John's Drive-In to promote their appearance at the Fremont Drag Strip the following day.  The site of the 28-foot long jet dragster parked at John's Drive-In brought all 4-lanes of traffic on the Alameda to a crawl.  A number of the DJ's and patrons took turns having their pictures taken sitting inside the Infinity.  Gary Dawson did the honors interviewing Glenn while the rest of the disc jockeys kept the girls at bay.  The next day Glenn and the Infinity lit up the Fremont Drag Strip covering the 1/4 mile in 4 seconds flat hitting 250 miles per hour.  Afterwards, a victory party was held at a local beer & pizza parlor.  A few months later Glenn and the Infinity headed to the Salt Flats to set a new world's land speed record.  Glenn died in the effort, and a friend was lost.  Long live the memory of Glenn Leasher and the Infinity.
